Power BI governance software

Turn Power BI technical debt into owned, measurable work.

Everscope inventories reports and semantic models, explains technical risks, connects them to business impact and gives every remediation a named decision path.

From inventory to evidence

One workflow for the questions BI teams repeatedly face.

Know what exists, why a finding matters, who owns the decision and whether the issue was actually resolved.

Find technical debt

Surface unused measures and columns, risky DAX patterns, model complexity, stale content, refresh failures and Power Query maintainability risks.

See business impact

Connect every report to its semantic model so teams can understand downstream impact before changing shared logic.

Assign accountability

Record the business owner, technical owner, steward, priority, due date, decision and validation evidence for governed work.

Prove improvement

Keep scan history, rule evidence, workflow state and exports together instead of rebuilding an audit trail from tickets and spreadsheets.

What Everscope reviews

Semantic models, reports and the logic between them.

  • Measures, columns, tables, relationships and calculated objects
  • DAX complexity, risky patterns and duplicate or unused logic
  • Power Query sources, folding signals and transformation maintainability
  • Refresh history, stale content, ownership gaps and report dependencies
  • KPI definitions linked back to measures, models and consuming reports

A controlled operating model

Findings are the start of governance, not the finish.

01

Scan metadata

Create a reproducible inventory and rule result.

02

Prioritise impact

Filter by model, report, severity, domain and owner.

03

Record a decision

Assign, accept, remediate or document an exception.

04

Validate change

Rescan and retain the before-and-after evidence.

Power BI governance FAQ

Clear boundaries before you connect.

Does Everscope read report or dataset rows?

No. Everscope analyses metadata, model definitions and aggregated operational signals; it does not retrieve or store underlying business-data rows.

Can it identify unused measures and columns?

Everscope combines model definitions, object references and available usage signals to flag candidates for review. A human validates every recommendation before action.

Does it automatically delete inefficient objects?

No. Findings are explainable recommendations. Everscope never automatically changes or deletes Power BI content.

Do we need Power BI administrator rights?

Not for user-scoped onboarding. Broader tenant Scanner API coverage is optional and requires explicit administrator approval.

The demo is read-only, fully populated and requires no Microsoft connection.
